About
The artist
Hailing from Brampton, Ontario, Russell Llantino—known artistically as RUSSELL! and previously as D-Pryde—is a pioneering Filipino-Canadian R&B singer, songwriter, and rapper. Beginning as a teenage internet phenomenon whose rap freestyles generated millions of views in the early 2010s, he evolved into a premier R&B crooner channeling 1990s baby-making slow jams, classic Motown harmonies, and modern bedroom soul. With standout solo projects including Dearly Beloved and evocative viral hits like SCARLETT'S WEEKEND and ON THE ROCKS, RUSSELL! has built a worldwide independent fanbase and stands as an enduring pioneer for Asian-Canadian representation in contemporary urban music.
