About

The artist

Formed in Oakville, Ontario in 1977, Saga is one of Canada's most enduring and influential progressive rock bands. Led by dynamic frontman Michael Sadler alongside guitarist Ian Crichton, bassist Jim Crichton, and keyboardist Jim Gilmour, the ensemble pioneered a sophisticated sound combining classic European prog complexity with accessible synth-rock hooks. Their 1981 masterwork Worlds Apart produced international charting hits including On the Loose and Wind Him Up, garnering them the 1982 JUNO Award for Most Promising Group of the Year. Over four decades and more than twenty studio records, the group has sustained an ardent global following, reinterpreting their legendary repertoire on their 2021 acoustic release Symmetry.
