About

The artist

Sea Oleena is the solo project of Montreal musician Charlotte Oleena, also credited as Charlotte Loseth. She began the project in 2010 with a self-titled release, followed by Sleeplessness in 2011. Those early recordings established a quiet approach built from layered vocals, acoustic instruments, electronics, and environmental texture. Her first full-length album, Shallow, arrived through Lefse Records in 2014 and expanded the project into longer, carefully arranged pieces. Oleena returned in 2020 with Weaving a Basket, a seven-song album that she wrote, recorded, and produced herself, with mixing by her brother and frequent collaborator Luke Loseth. The standalone single Untethering followed in 2021. Her work also extends into collaborations with Montreal songwriter Patrick Watson: she appeared on Stay in 2022 and sings the title track of Watson's 2025 album Uh Oh. Artist-controlled and official platform profiles continue to identify Sea Oleena with Montreal, confirming the project's current Canadian base.
