The artist
Formed in Halifax in 2022, Sly-Fi is a jazz-funk and instrumental hip-hop collective led by producer and multi-instrumentalist Adam McLellan, also known as Snug. Drummer Charles Urich is part of the core lineup, with the project regularly bringing in vocalists and instrumentalists from the Halifax scene. The EPs Crypto Bro (2023) and Stranger Than Fiction (2024) pair original arrangements with a crate-digger's sense of texture. Sly-Fi has appeared at Nova Scotia Music Week and was nominated for the 2025 Music Nova Scotia Jazz Recording of the Year award.
