The artist
Steel Cut Oats is a femme indie-pop trio formed in Halifax and now based in Victoria, British Columbia. Sarah Roberts, Sophie Janke and Ted build a bright, kinetic sound from guitar, synth, violin, harmonies and bass synth, with songs that carry an energetic and angsty feminist perspective. Their releases include the EPs At The Eleventh Hour (2022) and Top Autonomy (2024), the 2024 singles Professional Disrespect and Waiting For You, and the 2026 album Okay Love You, Ok Bye. The group has toured across Canada and continues to perform on both coasts.
