About

The artist

Formed in Montreal, Quebec by brothers Brad and Andrew Barr following their relocation from Providence, Rhode Island, The Barr Brothers quickly emerged as one of the most distinctive ensembles in Canadian modern roots music. Joined by classically trained harpist Sarah Pagé, the group developed a captivating sonic architecture blending polyrhythmic West African percussion, blues fingerpicking, and chamber-folk harp. Their eponymous 2011 debut, along with Sleeping Operator (2014) and Queens of the Breakers (2017), garnered three JUNO Award nominations for Adult Alternative Album of the Year, critical acclaim from NPR, and appearances on late-night stages and world festival circuits.
