About
The artist
Formed in 2023 by Rhys Poirier on vocals and guitar and Alexis Grant on drums, The Orchids build a loud, direct sound from the essentials of a two-piece band. Their self-titled debut album was released on March 28, 2025, with production and mixing by Chad Peck and recording at The Drum Room Recordings. The Truro duo has appeared across Atlantic Canada, earned 2025 Music Nova Scotia nominations for Loud Recording of the Year and New Artist Recording of the Year, and won the Loud Recording of the Year award.
