The artist
Tim Hecker is a Montreal-based Canadian musician, composer and sound artist whose work explores the intersection of noise, dissonance and melody. Active since the mid-1990s and also known as Jetone, he has released acclaimed ambient and electronic albums including Harmony in Ultraviolet, Ravedeath, 1972, Virgins, No Highs and Shards. His practice also includes film, television, dance and sound-art commissions, with current Montreal activity documented by MUTEK.
