The artist
Vincent Ho is a Calgary-based Canadian composer whose catalog spans orchestral, chamber, vocal, theatre, and solo music. Born in Ottawa and trained at the University of Calgary, University of Toronto, and University of Southern California, he served as composer-in-residence with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra from 2007 to 2014. His close collaboration with percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie produced works including The Shaman and From Darkness to Light, while Arctic Symphony and Supervillain Études brought further national recognition. Ho has received four JUNO nominations and major Canadian and international composition honours, won the 2023 Western Canadian Music Award for Composer of the Year, and serves as artistic director of Land's End Ensemble.
