About
The artist
Formed in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2001, Wintersleep are one of the Atlantic region's most critically acclaimed and enduring rock groups. Led by frontman Paul Murphy alongside guitarist Tim D'Eon, drummer Loel Campbell, keyboardist Jon Samuel, and bassist Scott Frasch, the band masterfully balances sweeping, dynamic indie-rock anthems with brooding, atmospheric post-rock tension. Their third album Welcome to the Night Sky (2007) produced the Canadian rock classic Weighty Ghost and earned the band the 2008 JUNO Award for New Group of the Year. Over subsequent releases on Dine Alone Records including Hello Hum and The Great Detachment, Wintersleep have maintained an unwavering standard of sonic craftsmanship.
