Annual cycle. The 2027 funding application opens September 30, 2026 and closes November 30, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.; the 2026 cycle closed November 28, 2025.
- Eligible applicants
- Volunteer groups and/or not-for-profit organizations with a location or physical presence in Cambridge, serving the general public with the majority of program participants resident in Cambridge. Applicants must be in good standing, maintain an independent board of at least five members, carry $2 million general liability insurance naming the City, and meet the City’s governance and reporting requirements. Individuals, for-profits, governments, political organizations, schools and other listed categories are ineligible.

- The 2026 program budget was $350,100. The City provides separate application routes for requests up to $25,000 and requests of $25,000 or more, but does not publish a universal per-application maximum; awards are discretionary and approved annually.
