Annual cycle. For 2026–27, Cultural Events and Seniors’ Clubs applications ran September 22 to October 22, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. The City says 2027–28 application dates will be posted in August 2026.
- Eligible applicants
- Incorporated or unincorporated not-for-profit organizations based in Markham, supported by a volunteer board, steering committee, or similar body. Events, activities, and programs must occur in Markham, be open to the public, avoid duplication or other City funding, and have a majority-Markham-resident governing body unless significant community benefit is demonstrated. Individuals and for-profit organizations are ineligible.

- Up to $5,000 per recipient for Cultural Events and Programs. The City’s FAQ also reports a 2025–26 annual funding envelope of $462,500 plus $42,300 carry-forward, for $504,800 total allocated for that cycle.
