- Eligible applicants
- Nanaimo-based incorporated non-profit societies or community organizations in good standing and active for at least one full year; individuals may also apply case-by-case. Applicants must be within Nanaimo boundaries, have no outstanding City balances, and have completed prior reporting.
- Funding amount or limit
- Requests may cover up to 35% of the total event budget; requests above 35% may be reviewed case-by-case. No fixed dollar maximum is published.

Eligible activities
- Public downtown Nanaimo events and festivals that attract residents and visitors, activate the downtown, support business activity, raise Nanaimo’s profile, promote local arts/culture/history/products, and include artist, entertainer, Elder, presenter, venue/equipment, materials, marketing, or administration costs.
