Two 2026 Seed deadlines: May 6, 2026 at 4 p.m. and October 7, 2026 at 4 p.m. The application goes live approximately two months before each deadline.
- Eligible applicants
- Individual applicants from Indigenous and equity-seeking communities who have faced barriers to equal access, opportunities, and resources due to disadvantage, marginalization, and discrimination. The simplified stream is designed to assist new or emerging artists; organizations and collectives are not the applicant class for the Seed award.

Eligible activities
- Small-scale artistic projects that contribute to personal artistic growth, celebrate or connect communities, and advance artistic expression. Seed creation examples include traditional crafts, dance, storytelling, music, other cultural-heritage practices, contemporary/interdisciplinary arts, and necessary creation materials.
