First-come, first-served annual intake beginning in January and continuing until the budget is depleted or November 30, whichever comes first; applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.

Eligible applicants
Registered not-for-profit societies operating within Prince George for residents’ benefit, limited to one Capacity Building Grant per year; training must occur during the calendar year before November 30 and the organization must align with the City’s grant criteria, including arts and culture participation, equity, and community well-being.
Funding amount or limit
Allocations are generally less than $1,500; the 2026 stream budget is $6,000.

Eligible activities

  • Staff or volunteer tuition, registration, certification, learning materials, relevant courses/workshops/conferences, sector conference/workshop hosting, and short-term student/intern compensation that upgrades organizational skills and knowledge; personal career advancement, travel, mandatory employer courses, and curriculum development are excluded.
