Annual intake for the 2027 cycle opens September 16, 2026 and closes October 14, 2026; applications are submitted through the Richmond City Grants Application System.
- Eligible applicants
- New, developing, and established Richmond-based or Richmond-active non-profit arts and cultural organizations with an arts mandate, at least 12 months of legal operation, public programming open to residents, local artistic activity, qualified administration and governance, and other cash revenue sources. Principal professional artists should be paid at industry standards.
- Funding amount or limit
- Up to 50% of the annual operating budget, to a maximum request of $5,000 for the 2027 cycle.

Eligible activities
- One-time or time-limited arts initiatives, annual arts events, music projects, public presentations, and related project expenses. Deficits, fundraisers, capital projects, start-up costs, activity outside Richmond, and non-arts service delivery are excluded.
