Individual Artist Grant Program for Winnipeg Artists Working in All Disciplines

Current/upcoming: the 2026 Cycle 2 application window opened July 6, 2026 and closes September 1, 2026 through GoSmart.

Two deadlines per year, generally in early March and early September. The current published deadline is September 1, 2026, for projects running December 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027.

Eligible applicants
Professional Winnipeg artists working in any artistic discipline; individuals must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, dedicated to professional artistic practice, and have lived and worked in Winnipeg for at least one year immediately before applying. Collectives producing non-individual work may be directed to the Project Grant program.
Funding amount or limit
Up to $7,000 for mid-career and established artists, or up to $3,000 for emerging artists; additional accessibility support may be available by arrangement.

Eligible activities

  • Creation of new work, development, production, curation, or exhibition of artistic work in any art form, including music; accessibility costs may be eligible for Deaf artists and artists with disabilities when tied to completing the project.
