The Cascade is UFV’s independent nonprofit student newspaper, with current album reviews and an explicit campus and Fraser Valley community focus.
The Cascade is an independent nonprofit student newspaper serving the University of the Fraser Valley and the wider Fraser Valley community in British Columbia. It publishes every second Wednesday during the school year in print and online, with sections for news, culture, arts in review, music, local artists, features, opinion and sports. A July 15, 2026 review examines Noah Kahan’s album The Great Divide: The Last Of The Bugs through its songs, folk-rock sound, instrumentation, lyricism, themes and emotional arc; the outlet continued publishing campus, community, culture and sports reporting in July 2026. Its contribution page directs current UFV students and alumni to claim articles from an assignment sheet and contact section editors. Because that channel recruits contributors rather than inviting artists or organizations to pitch music releases, it is not represented as a current music-submission service. The paper distributes across UFV’s Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Mission campuses and throughout the Fraser Valley, so the public record uses sourced province-only geography instead of inventing a single operating city. Named staff contacts, role inboxes and street-address details are excluded.
