The Concordian is Concordia University’s independent student newspaper in Montréal, with current music criticism, French-language pages and podcast reporting.

The Concordian is Concordia University’s independent student newspaper in Montréal, staffed entirely by students and governed by a board of current and former students. Founded in 1973, it publishes campus and city news, sports, arts and culture, music, opinions, French-language pages and multimedia. Its dedicated Music section carried current reporting through April 2026, including album criticism, concert reviews, artist interviews, Juno coverage and festival recommendations. An April 7 review examines Quebec duo Angine de Poitrine’s Montréal album-launch concert through its microtonal rock, instruments, stagecraft, supporting Quebec acts and audience response. The outlet also published current French-language journalism in April 2026 and embedded a February 24, 2026 episode of its news podcast The Update, supporting genuinely bilingual and podcast-format credit. Its current masthead invites students who write, make art or practise journalism to pitch ideas, publish work or participate through the editor associated with their interest, including Music. Because that invitation is framed as student contribution rather than an exclusion-free route for artists or organizations to pitch music releases, it is not represented as a current artist music-submission service. Named staff contacts, non-music inboxes, phone numbers and street-address details are excluded.
