The Medium

The Medium is the University of Toronto Mississauga’s independent student newspaper, with current original music reporting, a weekly editorial newsletter and a direct no-fee community story-pitch form.

The Medium is the independent student-run newspaper of the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), operated by the nonprofit Medium II Publications in Mississauga. It publishes online and describes a weekly academic-year print cycle, with articles edited for Monday issues. Its site carried current general reporting into May 2026 and current original music editorial inside the 180-day activity window. March coverage includes a survey of students’ study-music tastes, commentary on queer artists and stereotypes around music fandom, an original profile of Grammy-winning producer and UTM alumnus Kevin Ekofo, and a campus report about access to music practice spaces. Its Arts section expressly covers music, theatre, film and visual art.
