Provenance & Context
The Story of the Release
My Hellbound Heart is an ambitious nine-minute theatrical metal single by Canadian horror-metal trio The Animal Warfare Act. Founded in Whitehorse, Yukon by brothers Manus and Cormac Hopkins before establishing roots in Ontario, the band combines technical heavy riffing with a satirical narrative universe. Inspired by classic gothic literature and horror cinema, My Hellbound Heart explores grief, terror, and despair across sweeping dynamic shifts.
