The Story of the Release
Waves is the critically acclaimed debut solo LP by St. John's singer-songwriter and producer Kelly McMichael. Co-produced with Jake Nicoll, the album showcases McMichael's incandescent vocal power, sophisticated pop sensibilities, and indie-rock edge across ten hook-laden tracks. Waves was shortlisted for the prestigious 2022 Polaris Music Prize, won the East Coast Music Award for Best Rock Recording, and earned multiple MusicNL honours.
