About

The artist

Alexisonfire is a post-hardcore band formed in St. Catharines, Ontario, in 2001 by George Pettit, Dallas Green, Wade MacNeil, Chris Steele, and an early lineup that later added drummer Jordan Hastings. The group's 2002 self-titled debut helped bring post-hardcore into the Canadian mainstream, followed by Watch Out!, Crisis, and Old Crows / Young Cardinals. Their music contrasts screamed vocals and aggressive guitars with melodic singing and broad atmospheric passages. After a farewell period beginning in 2011, the band resumed performances and eventually released Otherness in 2022, its first studio album in thirteen years. Alexisonfire has won a Juno Award, earned gold and platinum certifications in Canada, and built the Born & Raised concert series as a recurring St. Catharines homecoming. New live recordings, the 2025 EP Copies of Old Masters Vol. 1, and 2026 tour dates confirm continued activity.
