About

The artist

Andy Shauf is a Saskatchewan-raised, Toronto-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and member of Foxwarren. Raised in Bienfait and shaped by Regina's music community, he developed a narrative style in which compact scenes, conversational details, and patient arrangements unfold like short fiction. The Bearer of Bad News established that approach, while The Party earned a place on the 2016 Polaris Music Prize shortlist through interconnected portraits of one gathering. The Neon Skyline followed a night at a neighbourhood bar, balancing heartbreak with dry humour and close social observation. Shauf writes, performs, arranges, and produces much of his solo work himself, often using guitar, piano, drums, and clarinet to create warm but uneasy spaces. Norm, his eighth album, widened that narrative method through multiple viewpoints and questions about desire, faith, and danger. In parallel, Foxwarren reconnects him with childhood friends and a more collaborative, sample-driven process. The band's second album arrived in 2025, followed by remixes in 2026. Current ANTI- material describes Shauf working on those recordings in Toronto, while his official site, exact Spotify and Apple Music profiles, Canadian label relationship, and current booking roster confirm his identity and active career.
