About

The artist

Ariane Moffatt is a Montreal-based singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work has helped shape contemporary French-language pop in Quebec. Her 2002 debut Aquanaute won three Félix awards and established a catalog that moves freely between intimate piano writing, electronic textures, pop hooks, and dance rhythms. Le cœur dans la tête and Tous les sens expanded her audience, with Tous les sens earning the 2009 Juno Award for Francophone Album of the Year and a Grand Prix from the Académie Charles Cros. Moffatt later explored bilingual electronic pop on MA, dreamlike production on 22h22, warm 1970s-inspired arrangements on Petites mains précieuses, and an audio-visual format on Incarnat. Alongside her own recordings, she has created music for screen and stage projects, directed a Francos de Montréal tribute to Jean-Pierre Ferland, completed music studies at UQAM, and taught songwriting at Concordia University. Airs de Jeux, her eighth album, arrived without advance notice in March 2025 with twelve new pop songs. She continued touring the project across Quebec through 2026.
