About
The artist
Ariane Roy is a singer-songwriter from Quebec City whose work combines French-language indie pop, rock energy, and a theatrical live presence. After reaching the Francouvertes final in 2020, she released the EP Avalanche (n.f.) in 2021 and the debut album medium plaisir in 2022. That early period brought the Radio-Canada Revelation designation, the Félix-Leclerc Prize, ADISQ's Revelation of the Year Félix, and Juno nominations for the Ta main video and medium plaisir. Roy also joined Lou-Adriane Cassidy and Thierry Larose for Le Roy, La Rose et le Lou[p], a collaborative concert project that won the 2024 Félix for Show of the Year. Her second album, Dogue, arrived in 2025 with darker production, more pointed writing, and themes of femininity, power, and accepting difficult parts of oneself. It won the 2025 ADISQ award for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year. Dogue de Luxe expanded the project to eighteen songs in February 2026. Roy continued touring through Quebec and appeared at the 2026 Festival d'été de Québec while developing her audience in francophone Europe.
