About

The artist

bbno$ is the recording name of Vancouver rapper, singer, songwriter, and independent artist Alex Gumuchian. He began releasing music online in 2016 after an injury interrupted his plans as a competitive swimmer. Early SoundCloud tracks found an audience in China, and a steady run of short, rhythm-focused songs developed his mix of deadpan delivery, absurd humour, and internet-aware promotion. Gumuchian released the albums Bb Steps in 2018, Recess and I Don't Care at All in 2019, Good Luck Have Fun in 2020, Eat Ya Veggies in 2021, and Bag or Die in 2022. His collaboration with producer Y2K, Lalala, became an international hit in 2019. He has also maintained a recurring partnership with Yung Gravy through the Baby Gravy series. The self-titled bbno$ album arrived in October 2025 with songs including It Boy, Check, Two, and 1-800. Its success led into the Internet Explorer Tour in 2026. New singles in 2026 included Diamonds Are Forever, Why Am I Like This, and Round and Round. Despite a deliberately comic public persona, Gumuchian operates bbno$ as an independent business and uses his platform for community fundraising. His Vancouver festival Baby's Bonanza has supported the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre. Current Canadian reporting identifies him as a Vancouver-based artist, and his 2026 touring and release activity remain active.
