About

The artist

Blue Moon Marquee brings together A.W. Cardinal on vocals and guitar with Jasmine Colette, also known as Badlands Jass, on vocals, upright bass, and foot drums. The duo formed after connecting in Vancouver in 2012 and has toured extensively across North America and Europe since 2013. Their music moves through blues, jazz, jump jive, folk, country, swing, and Indigenous soul, pairing Cardinal's Woodland Cree storytelling with the duo's interest in early roots traditions. Albums include Gypsy Blues, Bare Knuckles & Brawn, the JUNO-winning Scream, Holler & Howl, New Orleans Sessions, and the 2025 Northern Cree collaboration Get Your Feathers Ready. Blue Moon Marquee won the 2024 JUNO Award for Blues Album of the Year, swept four Maple Blues Awards in 2023, and continued with a 2025 JUNO nomination and Western Canadian Music Award recognition.
