The artist

Cyberaktif are a Canadian electro-industrial group rooted in Vancouver's interconnected industrial music scene. The original project brought together cEvin Key and Dwayne Goettel of Skinny Puppy with Bill Leeb of Front Line Assembly. Early singles Nothing Stays and Temper preceded the album Tenebrae Vision, recorded around 1990 and released through Wax Trax. The project combined programmed rhythm, layered synthesis, samples, noise, and Leeb's vocals while allowing the members to work outside their principal bands. Cyberaktif then became dormant as Key, Goettel, and Leeb continued with other projects and after Goettel's death in 1995. More than three decades later, Key and Leeb revived the name with Front Line Assembly and Delerium producer Rhys Fulber completing the core lineup. Singles A Single Trace, You Don't Need to See, and Broken Through Time introduced the second album, eNdgame, released in February 2024 by Canadian label Artoffact Records and Subconscious Communications. Greg Reely mixed and mastered the nine-track record, with additional contributions from Eric Peterson, Dre Robinson, and Guilherme Pires. Artoffact reported that the album became the most pre-ordered release in the label's history shortly after its announcement. The artist-controlled Bandcamp page identifies Cyberaktif with Vancouver, lists Key, Leeb, and Fulber, and links the same canonical Spotify artist identifier found in MusicBrainz and the discovery record. Current label and artist pages continue to present Cyberaktif as a resurfaced Canadian group rather than an archival alias. Its compact catalog of two albums and five singles connects the first wave of Vancouver electro-industrial music to an active twenty-first-century return.
