About

The artist

Dany Placard is a quintessential figure of the contemporary Quebec independent music scene. Originally hailing from Laterriere in Saguenay and established in Montreal, Placard began his journey with the group Plywood 3/4 before launching a prolific solo catalog that spans two decades. Known for his raw, unvarnished folk rock, psychedelic country grooves, and inventive analog synth explorations, his acclaimed albums include Astronomie, Fullana, and J ai commande un automate. A consummate live performer and respected producer released through Costume Records, Placard has earned multiple ADISQ and GAMIQ nominations, standing as an enduring pillar of independent francophone songcraft.
