The artist

De Temps Antan is a Quebec traditional music trio rooted in the Lanaudière region and currently formed by Éric Beaudry, David Boulanger, and Pierre-Luc Dupuis. The group began as a small side project around 2004 and grew into an international touring ensemble. Its sound draws on songs, tunes, call-and-response traditions, and dance rhythms from Quebec, delivered through fiddle, accordion, harmonica, guitar, bouzouki, vocals, and foot percussion. Beaudry brings a Saint-Côme family repertoire, string playing, singing, and long experience teaching traditional music in Joliette. Boulanger contributes violin, composition, and work with La Part du Quêteux and La Bottine Souriante. Dupuis, from Louiseville, brings accordion, harmonica, singing, and a background that also includes La Bottine Souriante. The trio's discography runs from À l'année in 2007 through J'ai mal à mon folklore in 2024, with Les habits de papier, Ce monde ici bas, Consolez-vous, the Le Vent du Nord collaboration Notre Album Solo, and Pesant between them. J'ai mal à mon folklore marked the group's twentieth anniversary and continued its practice of reshaping traditional and popular songs through collective arrangements. The collaboration with Le Vent du Nord also produced the SOLO concert, recognized at the OPUS Awards as Concert of the Year in world music. Current official activity includes touring and a June 2026 live recording of new original material at the Carrefour culturel de Notre-Dame-des-Prairies.
