About

The artist

Le Vent du Nord is a traditional Quebec folk quintet launched in August 2002 and operated from Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Quebec through Les Productions Le Vent du Nord and La Compagnie du Nord. Its current lineup is Nicolas Boulerice, André Brunet, Réjean Brunet, Olivier Demers, and André Gagné, who joined in 2024. Across voices, fiddle, hurdy-gurdy, accordion, piano, guitar, bouzouki, bass, jaw harp, mandolin, and foot percussion, the group combines traditional francophone repertoire with original compositions and influences from Celtic, Acadian, and other North American folk traditions. The band has performed more than 2,400 concerts across four continents. Maudite Moisson! began its album catalog in 2003 and won the 2004 JUNO Award for Roots and Traditional Album of the Year by a group. La part du feu earned the same JUNO category in 2011, while Tromper le temps and 20 printemps received later nominations. The anniversary album 20 printemps also won the 2023 Songlines Music Award for the Americas. Voisinages, released by La Compagnie du Nord on October 10, 2025, became the group's thirteenth career album and opened a new touring cycle built around musical neighbours from Ireland, Scotland, Acadia, Quebec, and the wider francophone Americas. Official 2026 activity includes a fifteen-city North American tour, Quebec dates, and continuing international performances. The exact Spotify identity currently contains 15 principal album and single containers in the Canadian market from May 2003 through October 2025: 12 provider-classified albums and three singles. The official discography counts 13 career albums because Le Vent du Nord symphonique is not present as a principal album on the exact Spotify identity. Representative Spotify releases are Voisinages, 20 printemps, Territoires, Tromper Le Temps, and La part du feu. The official site connects the current social identities, discography, management, label, publishing, distribution, and international booking relationships.
