The artist
Co-founded in late 2021 by Tunisian-Canadian singer and songwriter Meriem Ben Amor and producer Carmen Rizzo, DIDON joins traditional North African and Arabic soundscapes to contemporary rhythms and synthesizers. The duo's catalogue includes Tunisian Tale, Malak and Bab El Mdina, with Bab El Mdina released in 2025. DIDON's Malak was nominated for the 2025 JUNO Award for Global Music Album of the Year, and the project remains active through its current artist-controlled site and Vancouver-based Meriem Ben Amor platform.
