The artist

Fortunate Ones is a Canadian contemporary folk-pop duo from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, formed by Catherine Allan and Andrew James O'Brien. Celebrated for their effortless vocal blend, melodic openness, and joyful live performances, the duo quickly emerged as one of the East Coast's most beloved touring acts. Their 2015 debut album The Bliss earned a Juno Award nomination for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year, alongside a Canadian Folk Music Award and multiple East Coast Music Awards. Their follow-up albums Hold Fast (2018) and That Was You and Me (2022), released via Sonic Records, deepened their reflective songcraft with rich piano arrangements and acoustic textures, cementing their stature across Canadian roots music.
