The artist

Gatekeeper began in Edmonton in 2009 as a solo outlet for guitarist and songwriter Jeff Black, then developed into a full band and relocated to Vancouver. Early EPs, splits, tribute recordings, and compilation appearances established a style rooted in epic heavy metal, power metal, doom, the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, fantasy, mythology, and heroic storytelling. The full-length East of Sun arrived through Cruz Del Sur Music in 2018 after the group's move west. Grey Maiden followed in 2019, and Gatekeeper toured Europe with Sanhedrin that year. From Western Shores, the band's second full-length album, was recorded during 2020 and 2021 and released in March 2023. Its eight tracks were performed by vocalist Tyler Anderson, Jeff Black on guitar, synth, and choir, Adam Bergen on guitar and choir, David Messier on bass and choir, and Thomas Torma on drums and percussion. Black produced the album, Arthur Rizk mixed and mastered it, and Cruz Del Sur Music presented the release. The exact Spotify identity contains eight distinct primary album and single containers from November 2016 through March 2023: three albums and five provider-classified singles.
