The artist
Handsome Tiger is an Anishinaabe Métis and North African producer and DJ currently based in Vancouver, British Columbia. His music brings powwow vocals and drums into dialogue with dubstep, hip-hop, dancehall and global bass, creating a sound rooted in Indigenous futurism, diasporic connection and sound-system culture. After releases including Foundations, Diaspora and First People, he expanded that decolonial bass approach on Diaspora II in 2025. The 2026 album First People II features collaborations with Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Prado Monroe and REI, while an active festival and touring schedule keeps his work connected to dance floors across Canada and beyond.
