About
The artist
Jenn Grant is a singer-songwriter and recording artist based in Lake Echo, Nova Scotia. Her work moves between folk-pop, indie folk, dream pop, country, and Americana, with detailed vocal arrangements and writing shaped by place, memory, and collaboration. Grant began releasing music in 2005 and built a national catalog through albums including Echoes, Honeymoon Punch, The Beautiful Wild, Compostela, Love, Inevitable, and Champagne Problems. Her songs range from the sweeping pop of Dreamer and the intimate family portrait of Judy to collaborative recordings with Bahamas, Dan Mangan, Basia Bulat, and Kevin Drew. Grant's 2026 album Queen of the Strait deepens the country and Americana side of her work. Co-produced with Joshua Van Tassel and Daniel Ledwell, the eleven-song record connects Atlantic landscapes, family memory, and character-driven storytelling. Grant's artist-controlled Bandcamp released the album on March 6, 2026, while her official site presents an active Canadian performance cycle around the project. Queen of the Strait is newer than the thirty-nine primary album and single containers returned by her exact Spotify identity, so this profile counts forty current primary containers across the two artist-controlled or official platform sources: ten albums and thirty singles. The catalog runs from Echoes, released January 27, 2009 on Spotify, through Queen of the Strait in March 2026. Grant received two East Coast Music Awards in 2024: Song of the Year for Judy and Songwriter of the Year. Her national recognition includes three JUNO nominations: Adult Alternative Album of the Year for Honeymoon Punch in 2012, then Adult Alternative Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year for Compostela in 2015. Her official biography also records a Canadian Folk Music Award for Solo Artist of the Year and multiple ECMA and Music Nova Scotia honours. Current location is supported by Grant's artist-controlled Bandcamp profile and a direct 2023 professional interview, both of which identify Lake Echo, Nova Scotia. Some event copy uses Halifax as the broader market label; this profile retains the more specific artist-controlled location. Management is publicly routed through Blue Grace Music, Canadian booking through Feldman Agency, and other professional inquiries through Grant's official website. The profile uses provider-attributed live Spotify media with a monogram fallback.
