About
The artist
Jennifer Castle is a singer-songwriter based in Toronto, Ontario. Her music centres a clear, expressive voice and poetic writing, moving through folk, psychedelic folk, indie folk, and understated country arrangements. She began releasing work as Castlemusic, including Live at the Music Gallery in 2006 and You Can't Take Anyone in 2008, before issuing the 2011 album Castlemusic under her own name. Pink City followed in 2014, combining acoustic songs with strings, horns, and spacious ensemble playing. It reached the 2015 Polaris Music Prize Short List. Angels of Death expanded that language in 2018 and appeared on the Polaris Long List, while Monarch Season returned to a spare voice-and-guitar setting in 2020. Castle's 2024 album Camelot places ten songs inside arrangements built by pianist and keyboardist Carl Didur, drummer and percussionist Evan Cartwright, bassist Mike Smith, and other collaborators. Released November 1, 2024, the record considers nature, family, friendship, imagination, and the ordinary spaces where private and mythic experience meet. The album includes Blowing Kisses, a song also heard in the third season of The Bear. Castle remains active through current official catalog pages and Canadian performances scheduled in 2026. Her exact Spotify identity contains five albums and three singles from April 2011 through November 2024. Her official discography adds two earlier Castlemusic albums and two split releases that are absent from that primary Spotify list. After deduplication, this profile summarizes twelve principal album and single containers: seven albums and five singles or split releases, spanning 2006 to 2024. Castle has collaborated with artists including The Weather Station, U.S. Girls, Owen Pallett, Doug Paisley, and Fucked Up. Current professional relationships publicly listed by her official site include management by Victoria Kent, North American booking through First Date Touring, worldwide label representation through Paradise of Bachelors, and publishing and licensing through Domino Publishing. Her artist-controlled Bandcamp identifies Toronto, Ontario, and current publisher and performance pages independently support an active Ontario practice. Public professional inquiries route through Castle's official contact page without republishing individual email addresses. The profile uses provider-attributed live Spotify media with a monogram fallback.
