Toronto boutique vinyl record label dedicated to documenting distinctive, craft-driven Canadian art-pop, psych-folk, and sophisti-pop.

Founded in Toronto in 2010 by Jeff McMurrich and Christian Badoe, Idée Fixe Records is a boutique independent label devoted to curating meticulously engineered, aesthetically elevated Canadian recordings.

Known for premiering pivotal early discographies for artists including The Weather Station, Jennifer Castle, Marker Starling, and Fiver, Idée Fixe emphasizes vinyl-first presentation, audiophile production integrity, and enduring artist relationships.

Through more than a decade of active documentation, the imprint has established itself as one of Canada's premier homes for idiosyncratic sophisti-pop, avant-folk, and adventurous songcraft.
