The artist
JJ Lavallee is a Métis country singer-songwriter and fiddler from St. Ambroise, Manitoba, who now calls Saskatoon home. Raised in a musical Métis family, he developed a performance style that joins country songwriting, fiddle music and cultural storytelling. His 2023 album Rebirth includes the charting songs Young Man, Good Metis Man and Take Me Home, and his official site and DSP profiles document new music and performances through 2026. SaskMusic confirms his current Saskatoon base and recognizes his 2023 and 2024 Saskatchewan Indigenous Music Awards honours. The official Saskatchewan Music Awards program also lists him in two 2025 categories. MusicList uses a rights-clean monogram instead of unlicensed photography.
