About

The artist

KAYTRANADA is a Haitian-Canadian producer and DJ based in Montréal, Quebec, with a professional life that also extends to Los Angeles. Born Louis Kevin Celestin in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, he moved to Montréal as a child. He began DJing as a teenager and was releasing early beat tapes by age eighteen. He first worked under the name Kaytradamus before establishing KAYTRANADA as his primary artist identity around 2013. His production combines electronic music, house, hip-hop, R&B, funk, boogie, and Afro-Caribbean rhythm in a groove-led style. The 2016 album 99.9% established his full-length catalog and won the Polaris Music Prize that year. BUBBA followed in 2019 and deepened the link between his instrumental production and a large circle of vocal collaborators. In 2021, BUBBA won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album and 10% with Kali Uchis won Best Dance/Electronic Recording. He released the Intimidated project in 2021 and formed KAYTRAMINÉ with Aminé for a collaborative album in 2023. TIMELESS arrived in 2024 with guests including Childish Gambino, PinkPantheress, Channel Tres, Thundercat, and Charlotte Day Wilson. AIN'T NO DAMN WAY! followed in 2025 as a twelve-track instrumental album that returned attention to his work as a beatmaker. His exact Spotify identity currently contains fifty-two primary album and single containers from 2013 through 2025, normalized by MusicList as eight albums, two EPs, and forty-two singles. His production and collaboration history includes Kali Uchis, H.E.R., Aminé, BADBADNOTGOOD, Charlotte Day Wilson, Childish Gambino, and many other artists. A 2025 co-headlining arena tour with Justice expanded his live work across North America. In March 2026, he told Billboard Canada that he had returned to studio mode and was developing his next solo album. During a 2026 Variety interview, he directly identified Montréal as where he lives while describing his professional life as split between Montréal and Los Angeles. That current first-person statement resolves Montréal and Quebec as the public Canadian location while preserving the bi-coastal context. His official site links the exact Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Instagram, and RCA Records identities and provides a Connect section for professional inquiries. MusicList uses live Spotify-attributed media with a monogram fallback and does not republish the direct email addresses displayed by his team.
