About

The artist

Founded in Winnipeg in 1972, the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra is one of Canada's professional chamber orchestras. The ensemble presents an annual concert series while pairing established repertoire with Canadian music, commissions, cross-genre collaborations, education, and community programs. Its recorded catalog includes music by Philip Glass, Michael Oesterle, Glenn Buhr, and other contemporary composers, as well as collaborations with soloists including Dame Evelyn Glennie and Isabel Bayrakdarian. Anne Manson serves as music director. The orchestra remains active through current Winnipeg seasons, touring and recording projects, including the 2024 release Violoncello Concerti 1 & 2 and its announced 2026–27 concert season.
