The artist

Marianas Trench formed in Vancouver in 2001 and currently consists of singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Josh Ramsay, guitarist Matt Webb, bassist Mike Ayley, and drummer Ian Casselman. The band builds pop-rock songs around stacked vocal harmonies, large dynamic shifts, orchestral detail, and album-length narrative ideas. Its first full-length album, Fix Me, arrived in 2006. Masterpiece Theatre expanded the group's multi-part songwriting, Ever After developed a continuous concept-album structure, Astoria drew on cinematic pop and 1980s rock scale, and Phantoms explored a darker theatrical setting. The sixth studio album, Haven, was released through 604 Records and Warner Music Canada in August 2024. Its thirteen songs follow stages of a hero's journey and combine the four-piece band's performances with synthesizers, orchestral writing, and layered vocals.
