About
The artist
Formed in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1995 by singer and songwriter Matthew Good alongside guitarist Dave Genn, drummer Ian Browne, and bassist Geoff Lloyd, Matthew Good Band were one of Canada's most commercially dominant and critically praised alternative rock groups of their era. Their breakthrough sophomore album Underdogs (1997) yielded massive hits Apparitions and Everything Is Automatic, while 1999's multi-Platinum masterpiece Beautiful Midnight debuted at #1 on the Canadian albums chart and swept the 2000 JUNO Awards, winning Group of the Year and Rock Album of the Year. Driven by Good's impassioned, cynical lyricism and sprawling, dynamic alt-rock arrangements, the band established an enduring legacy in Canadian music history.
