The artist
Raagaverse is a Vancouver Indo-jazz fusion ensemble led by vocalist and composer Shruti Ramani with pianist and composer Noah Franche-Nolan. The project took shape in 2022, bringing Ramani's Hindustani classical training together with contemporary jazz improvisation, harmonic colour, and narrative composition. Its debut album Jaya was released in 2024 and earned a JUNO Award nomination. The ensemble's evolving lineup now includes bassist James Meger and drummer Trent Otter, with Ramani and Franche-Nolan continuing as its creative centre. Official updates document work on a second album, a Bollywood-inspired project, and Canadian touring in 2026. Raagaverse also received 2025 Western Canadian Music Award nominations in the Global and Jazz artist categories.
