About
The artist
Roman Clarke is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer from Winnipeg, Manitoba whose music radiates buoyant soul, infectious funk grooves, and sun-drenched vocal harmonies. After touring extensively as drummer and vocalist for roots outfit The Middle Coast, Clarke launched his solo career with his 2019 debut album Scorcher, on which he wrote, arranged, and performed every instrument himself. Signed to Winnipeg's Birthday Cake Records, Clarke has built an international reputation both as a solo creator and as an essential collaborator and rhythm-section anchor for acts like The Bros. Landreth, Joey Landreth, Ariel Posen, Boy Golden, and Field Guide. His 2022 release I THINK IT'S ALL A DREAM showcases live-off-the-floor musicianship and indelible 1970s R&B sensibilities.
