About

The artist

Andrina Turenne is a bilingual Franco-Métis singer-songwriter and musician from Winnipeg's Saint-Boniface community. Over more than two decades, she has toured five continents, contributed to more than 50 albums, and composed for stage and screen. Turenne was a member of the Juno Award-winning group Chic Gamine before establishing a solo practice that combines old-time folk, roots rock, blues, and R&B. En plein cœur mai, co-written with Jean-Marc Dalpé, honours Métis resistance at Batoche. Her 2023 solo debut Bold as Logs uses the atmosphere of road trips, kitchen parties, and bonfire gatherings to explore nature, homeland, and relationships. The French-language Je suis un arbre followed in 2024, deepening her engagement with language and cultural roots. In 2025, she contributed the self-produced song Le huitième continent to HER (204): Stories of One Great City Revisited, a Women in Music Canada project centred on Manitoba artists. Current Manitoba Music and Indigenous Music profiles list Winnipeg and note that she is preparing a second full-length record in 2026. Her official site, exact Spotify and Apple Music profiles, and Bandcamp catalog confirm the intended artist and current activity.
