The artist

Sahara Jane is a vocalist, composer and sarangi player of Afghan-Canadian heritage, raised in Nova Scotia and based in the Annapolis Valley. Her music moves between world fusion, jazz, folk and Indian classical traditions, with the albums Between Worlds (2019) and Something Good (2024) at its centre. She has toured across Canada since 2023 and performed at festivals and concert series including Dawson City, Halifax Jazz and Deep Roots. Sahara also works with her husband and collaborator Ken Shorley, and continues to develop music for voice, sarangi and rhythm.
