About

The artist

Shotgun Jimmie (the moniker of Sackville, New Brunswick-based songwriter Jim Kilpatrick) is one of the most beloved and indefatigable figures in Canadian independent rock music. Known for his touring one-man-band setup (playing guitar while driving kick and snare drums with his feet) and his razor-sharp comedic timing, Jimmie crafts economical, hook-stuffed power-pop songs celebrating road life, small-town idiosyncrasies, and DIY community. His 2011 album Transistor Sister was long-listed for the Polaris Music Prize, followed by acclaimed albums including Everything, Everything, Field of Trampolines (produced by Joel Plaskett), and Transistor Sister 2 on You've Changed Records.

“Kilpatrick strips away the moniker to deliver a warm, wonderfully conversational record that functions like an afternoon with a particularly witty friend.”
