The artist
The Harpoonist is the current project of vocalist and harmonica player Shawn Hall, known for 17 years in the Vancouver blues duo The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer. Hall developed the project around songs that moved beyond that duo, collaborating with guitarist-producer Gordie Johnson and musicians including Jonas Shandel. The catalog began with Satellite Man in 2020 and expanded through the 2024 album Did We Come Here to Dance, followed by Letter from Bermuda and additional current releases. The music joins blues, heavy soul, psychedelic colour, and swamp-rock rhythm, with Hall on voice, harmonica, and keys.
